From Katie and Tom
Congratulations to you John, the rest of the players and the entire organization on a great year so far. You are truly to be commended for your work off the field. My question is regarding fans. I know down in the states, they're pretty crazy and passionate. Can you compare Rider Nation to the fans in the U-S? Thank you Katie and Tom
Katie and Tom
It is really hard for me to compare Rider Nation to fans of other teams in the states. There are so many teams, college and pro, amazing stadiums, and people in the U.S. you can't compare. The U.S. just loves its football and to be honest a lot of the time it doesn't really matter who is playing if there's a game to be watched people will be there. They still have great fans and die hards but I don't believe there is any comparison to the fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Riders sell out every game rain or shine or absolute freezing and the sea of green flourishes. The other amazing thing about the rider fans is that they represent Saskatchewan coast to coast. I can't believe how many people who live in other places especially other CFL cities, who grew up Saskatchewan fans and despite all the rough years are still die hards. It is crazy and it doesn't really ever seem to be that big a deal to go play somewhere else the green always seems to be there.
Thanks for your comments!

John, How is your health going into the WSF? My guess is your knee is ok but I wonder about your finger. Is your conditioning back? Thanks for your reply in advance. Bob
Bob
Thanks for your concern about my health. Actually, everything is pretty good. My conditioning is great, and so is my finger. Though, I will be spending some time in the off season to see what I can do to make it look as normal as possible and improve its flexibility. The only thing I really need to work on is trying not to land on my shoulder when I make a tackle.
Thanks,
John Chick

Hi John, Seriously man, are you looking forward to knocking skinny Buck Pierce like a rag doll to the turf and knock him out of this game? I loved your sack on Ricky Ray, you stripped him of the ball and then crumpled him. You made such a difference in Grey Cup 07, I know you will play big in the playoffs in 08. Riders rock, Dwayne
Dwayne,
Hahahaha! I can't really say something like that. I am really looking forward to this game and just hope that they come prepared for our defense. We're going to be flying around. I apreciate your comments on my play and the sack and plan on getting a few more before it's all finished.
Thank You ,
John Chick

This is not really a question. I just wanted to say thank you for giving the Rider Nation something postive for a change. We have always been proud of our Riders, no matter what the standings say. But you and this team have given us what we have all been waiting for, for a very very very long time. Its all about heart, pride, and love in Saskatchewan. You'll never find that anywhere else. I have never lived there myself, but I make the trip every week from Edmonton because there is no where else that I would rather be. We're no longer that "Next year its ours" team. We are now the Defending Grey Cup Champions....honestly, do you know how long Ive been wanting to say such a thing. Tears fill up my eyes when I even think about it. You have all decorated an already proud nation. Know that everything that you do, means the world to us, and that we are all behind you in whatever happens in these next few weeks/years/decades/forever. Stay Strong, Be Proud, the 13th man will always do that for you. BC SUCKS All the Love in the World Connie Dobson
Connie,
Thanks for all of your comment on the Riders. I know that we all feel the same way about this place and this team. The team atmophere and pride that exists on the Riders isn't found in too many places. Just in talking to other guys who have come here from other CFL teams that's the big difference. Fans such as yourself really help make it a positive atmosphere and an exciting team to play for.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Hi John Chick: Good luck this Saturday and we as fans are very happy to see you back in the lineup. Which Rider helmet do like the best? The old school one or the newer one ? Marc & Corrine Boivin
Marc and Corrine,
Thanks for visitig the site and sharing your comments. I'm pretty glad to be back in the line up as well. My favourite helmet to wear is the old school. There's just something about it that I really like.
Thank You,
John Chick

John, First of all I love your website and your passion for your cause, The Riders, their fans and The CFL. Your blog was posted in the forum section of riderville and riderfans.com also in the forum section where hundreds have clicked on it. I told that person to only post a small portion next time because it will take away from the over a thousand hits you would have had here. Back to football, we are so pumped for Saturday. Like so many others John, we believe. Andrea
Andrea,
Thanks for checking out the website and I'm glad you liked it. Also, thanks for your help and for believing in the Riders.
